PROJECT BREIF 

The Panda project is a three-state study of the physical activity diet environments in child care centers in Georgie, Kentucky and Mississippi.

PURPOSE

The aims of the Panda Project are to assess the nutrition and physical activity practices and policies of childcare centers in Mississippi, Georgia and Kentucky, as well as examine differences in these measures by geographic region (rural vs. urban), food program participation (CACFP vs. non-CACFP) and center type (Head Start vs. non-Head Start). The project evaluates the impact of state-level regulations on nutrition and physical activity practices of the centers.
