Alice Curran’s current research interests include role of dentists in addressing obesity and the management of oral candidiasis in denture patients. She completed an R21 from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NICDR) entitled: “The Role of Dentists in Addressing Obesity: A National Survey” which was published in the Journal of the American Dental Association. She has mentored several groups in conducting similar research among various populations including American orthodontists and Portuguese dentists. A study among British dentists is ongoing.

Dr. Curran is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, Emory University School of Medicine Oral Pathology Program and Washington University School of Dental Medicine Pathology Education Program. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
