Bei Wu’s research interests concern mental health, long-term care, cognitive health and oral health among older populations both in the United States and China, including the interface of oral health in older populations with mental health and cognitive issues.
Dr. Wu received her BA from Shanghai University, the People’s Republic of China, and holds an MS and PhD in gerontology from the University of Massachusetts. She is Associate Professor in Gerontology at University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dr. Wu has received several awards, including the J. Morita Award in Geriatric Oral Health. She is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE). Dr. Wu currently sits on the editorial boards of two gerontology journals and on an NIH special emphasis panel.
