Ziya Gizlice provides statistical advice in the design, conduct, and analysis of research projects, and conducts statistical analyses. His research interests include health disparities, childhood obesity and prevention of chronic diseases. He retired as Director of the HPDP Biostatistical Support Unit in 2018.
Dr. Gizlice holds a PhD from North Carolina State University. He serves as the director of the Biostatistical Support Unit at the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. Prior to his current position, Dr. Gizlice served as the head of Survey Operations Unit at NC State Center for Health Statistics and was the coordinator of the NC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS). Dr. Gizlice founded a Child Health Assessment and Monitoring Program (CHAMP) in North Carolina. As an Assistant Professor, he taught at Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey.
Dr. Gizlice has more than 20 years of experience in statistical data analysis. He is the author or co-author of a number of scientific publications.
