HPDP Research Fellow Debra Barksdale, an associate professor in the School of Nursing, was appointed on September 23rd to Board of Governors for the new Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Barksdale is one of 19 members appointed to the board for this institute that was established by Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, part of the federal government’s health-care reform legislation signed into law earlier this year.
