Project Title
Comparing Options for Management: Patient-Centered Results for Uterine Fibroids (COMPARE-UF)
Funding Dates
9/2014 – 9/2020
Description
The objective of the COMPARE-UF study is to determine the effectiveness of different surgical and medical management options for uterine fibroids in women ages 18-54 years. To achieve this objective, a multi-center registry of geographically, racially, ethnically, and clinically diverse group of women with uterine fibroids is conducted (nine U.S. centers including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). The study is observational, collecting information from women before and after treatment on how the treatment affected their uterine fibroid symptoms. This information is compared nationally, used to provide answers to women’s questions about treatment options, and used to improve care for patients with uterine fibroids.
