Description

Shape NC: Healthy Starts for Young Children, is an initiative by the NC Partnership for Children to improve the nutrition and physical activity practices in young children, child care providers and families. In the first 3 years, the project created 18 model early-learning centers. In the next 3 years, the project expanded to over 100 centers. Go NAP SACC is one of three interventions a part of the initiative. In-person nutrition training is provided to Shape NC’s technical assistance providers and Hub Specialists, and Shape NC offers continuing technical assistance on Go NAP SACC tools and nutrition questions. Shape NC is the first group to pilot the Go NAP SACC self-assessment tool. Five Go NAP SACC self-assessments are used to evaluate the program. This is a project of the Children’s Healthy Weight Research Group (CHWRG).
