Ximena Perez-Velazco HeadshotXimena Perez-Velazco is a PhD student at UNC – Chapel Hill in the Department of Nutrition at the Gillings School of Global Public Health. Her research interests include examining the role that contextual and environmental factors, specifically in the setting of marginalized populations, play in the development of nutrition-related diseases and disorders in first generation and resettled communities. At the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Ximena works primarily on projects focusing on Student Basic Need and Social Marketing, as it relates to healthy retail.
