Training and Technical Assistance
The Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention has successfully trained public health practitioners to deliver the Med-South Lifestyle Program as part of research studies, and now the Center wants to adapt the training to better address the needs of health departments, health centers, and other groups who may want to include the Med-South Lifestyle Program as a service or program offered to patients, employees as part of worksite wellness efforts, or community members.
The training is designed for staff at local health departments or community health centers who provide patient education. This includes nurses, dietitians or nutritionists, health educators, social workers, or community health workers.
