Derek Hales joined HPDP in 2009. His research focuses on measuring physical activity and the environmental, social, and personal factors that relate to physical activity behavior. His current work involves processing and analyzing physical activity data from a variety of adult and child populations, examining confirmatory factor and structural equation models, and exploring the reliability and validity evidence of measures related to physical activity. Dr. Hales has his PhD in Exercise Science from The University of Georgia.
