The Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP) is supported by administrative shared services offices under the UNC-Chapel Hill Office for the Vice Chancellor for Research.

Research Administration Service Center (RASC)

The Research Administration Service Center (RASC) within the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Research oversees financial management of funded projects at HPDP. Four permanent employees provide guidance and instruction with research administration activities including: monthly reconciliation and reporting to project teams and HPDP leadership, payroll and other HR related activities, and general financial oversight of HPDP funding. Contract and grant administrators within RASC are assigned to specific HPDP investigators, and do not rotate. In this way, there is clear and consistent delegation of responsibilities, which allows investigators to focus on their research rather than on administrative concerns.
