Jennifer Leeman, DrPH MPH MDiv
Associate Professor Multiple Principal Investigator Co-Principal Investigator, Core Research Project Jennifer Leeman is the Director of the HPDP’s Communication and Dissemination Core, and faculty on the UNC CTSA’s Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Methods Unit. She is serving or has served as PI on four and Co-I on six federally-funded D&I studies. Leeman’s research focuses on translating, disseminating, and implementing evidence-based prevention interventions that target change at the levels of individual behaviors, environments, and systems. She is PI of the Comprehensive Cancer Control Collaborative, NC (2011-2019), a National Cancer Institute/CDC-funded center that works with seven other centers nationwide to advance D&I science. Leeman previously served as Co-Principal Investigator of the CDC-funded Center for Training and Research Translation (PIs: Ammerman & Leeman, 2004-2014), which continues to disseminate evidence-based interventions and provided training to practitioners working on obesity prevention nationwide. Dr. Leeman received a MPH from Columbia University, a MDiv from Union Theological Seminary in New York, and a DrPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She Co-Directs the School of Nursing’s NINR/NIH-funded T32 training program on Interventions to Manage/Prevent Chronic Illness and teaches a course on how to write systematic reviews of the literature. Dr. Leeman is the author and co-author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
