HPDP is proud to announce that Kurt Ribisl has been named the Health Behavior and Health Education Teacher of the Year. Ribisl has been selected by the students of HBHE as the faculty member “who improves the student learning environment and outcomes by integrating new technologies, engaging students in interactive activities, employing creative assessment methods, introducing progressive curriculum and/or incorporating creative ideas.”
Kurt is the principal investigator for the HPDP Internet Vendors Cigarette (ICV) study, which the U.S. Senate cited in its unanimous decision to pass the Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking (PACT) Act. Kurt also leads the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN).
One faculty member from each academic unit was nominated by students to win the award, which includes a $1,000 prize to be used for your own educational development. Kurt and the other selected faculty will receive their awards on Tuesday morning, February 7th, at 8:30 am in the Hooker atrium.
