Adding plays to the “playbook:” Translating school meals programs during COVID-19 to best practices for future school closures
Project Title
Adding plays to the “playbook:” Translating school meals programs during COVID-19 to best practices for future school closures
Funding Dates
01/01/2021-12/31/2021
Description
During the COVID-19 pandemic, school meal programs quickly changed how they were feeding children. Many found innovative new ways to get meals to kids. Strategies that have been developed during the pandemic could be particularly useful for fighting child hunger and food insecurity during the summer, when schools are usually closed and participation in meal programs is lower. This project will examine data from two studies that collected data from school meals programs in 2020 and will conduct focus groups with school meals stakeholders.
