Participatory Grantmaking (PGM) is a nontraditional form of grantmaking that allows award recipients to be involved in awarding decisions. Every process is different, as it is designed to meet the needs of those who are receiving the funds and tailored to meet the capacity needs of the partners involved while encouraging growth in organizational capacity and skill building.

In 2023, the FFORC team piloted a form of participatory grantmaking called Network Voting with our community garden partners and the help of our Community Advisory Board (CAB). We look forward to engaging in this process in 2024!
