Brett Sheppard HeadshotBrett’s passion for improving food systems and impacting food justice grows out of several years managing community-oriented produce farms. At FFORC, Brett has led the community gardens initiative since 2014, working alongside resilient communities in low-wealth counties to rekindle traditions, increase community cohesion, and improve individual health and well-being. More recently Brett has co-led a project aimed at uncovering and addressing food and financial insecurities faced by college students. Brett holds a dual master’s degree in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from American University and the University for Peace in Costa Rica, and a BS in Civil Engineering.
